About Battery Operated Oval Gear Flow Meter

A Battery Operated Oval Gear Flow Meter is a positive displacement flow meter used to measure the exact volume of liquid flowing through a pipe. It runs on an internal battery (usually 3.6 V lithium) and shows the flow reading on a digital LCD display.

1. Working Principle

Inside the meter there are two oval-shaped gears placed in a measuring chamber.

Process:

Liquid enters the meter.
The flow causes the oval gears to rotate.
Each rotation moves a fixed quantity of liquid.
A sensor (Hall sensor or magnetic pickup) counts the gear rotations.
Electronics convert this into flow rate and total volume displayed on the screen.

Because every rotation equals a known volume, the meter gives very accurate measurement.
